Early Historic pennanular brooch terminal (fragment)
This is a fragment from a large penannular brooch, and one of
two decorative terminals. It would have been used to fasten a
cloak or similar garment round the shoulders. Found by metal
detector and allocated to the Stewartry Museum by the Treasure
Trove Advisory Panel.
Flat, gilded copper alloy circular terminal plate with incised
interlaced decoration, and a blue glass bead set centrally.
