Clay mould for casting stick pins

Clay mould for casting stick pins. This mould is for at least five nail-headed stick pins. These may have been for local consumption, or could have been specialist items produced for trade. It dates from the first half of the 6th century AD.   Stick pins were usually used to fasten cloaks, or occasionally wrap-around jackets.
