First Edition.   Binding: Multi-coloured marbled paper and brown leather on board; simple tooled decoration on leather; title, description, place, date and volume in gold on spine; marbled end-papers; wove cream paper with marbled edges.   Marks: Embossed "Burns Monument Kilmarnock", on the title page of all volumes. McKie private library numbers "50" "51", "52" & "53".   Illustrations: Volume 1 - Engraving of Burns after Nasmyth with decorative border (J. Neagle), facing the title page.
