spine.
Marks: McKie private catalogue number (463) in gold on the
spine. Lines from 12th stanza of "Ode on the Centenary of Burns" by
Isa Craig written in black ink on the flyleaf. "the land he trod
hath now become a place of pilgrimage.... The stream he wandered
near, the maidens whom he lov'd, the songs he sang. All, all are
dear!"
The poem was the winning entry selected at the
Centenary Festival held at Crystal Palace, Sydenham. 25th January
1859.
