The Dumfries Weekly Journal, Volume II, 1773

"Ecclefechanus" was the doctor's mate on board the "Lord Cassils" of Liverpool. He sent two descriptions of his experiences on this slave trading voyage to "The Dumfries Weekly Journal".   This is his account of an insurrection of the slaves while the ship was on the Middle Passage.
