Mineral water bottles
Mineral or soda was produced by dissolving carbon dioxide in water. It became popular in the late 18th century when it was thought to have healing properties. The addition of fruit syrup flavourings increased its popularity and by the second half of the 19th century the industry was flourishing, with most small towns having at least one mineral water works.
