Many of the objects that I've ear-marked for inclusion are from the collections held within Dean Castle in Kilmarnock which feel like old friends to me after, until recently, having been based there for several years. As well as being the Project Manager for the Future Museum website I'm also the Collections Officer for East Ayrshire Council's Museum Service and I suppose that the Castle itself is the single largest object in our collection. I've chosen a few items of Arms & Armour, not to celebrate the purpose for which they were made, but rather to marvel at the incredible craftsmanship and eye for detail of the artisans who created them.
