Ayr High Street & the Wallace Tower

Although many of the buildings have changed and the cobblestones have long been covered by tarmac, the wide high street of Ayr is still very recognisable due to the Wallace Tower, erected in memory of Scotland's national hero, who is alledged to have suffered punishment in the town at the hands of the Sherrif of Ayr.  The Tam O'Shanter Pub is also much the same today and retains it's thatched roof.
