View of Caprington Castle
The surrounding lands to where now sits Caprington Castle was
acquired in 1425 by the Cunningham family, after which the building
of the castle was begun. The building was remodelled some time
after 1780 and then again in the 1830s but it has remained in the
Cunningham family throughout and up to the present day.
