Bishop Percy's House, Bridgnorth

Bishop Percy's House, originally known as Forster's Folly, was built in 1580 for Richard Forster. The building survived a fire in the town in April 1646. The property is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Bishop Thomas Percy who wrote Reliques of Ancient English Poetry in 1765 which is considered the first of the great ballad collections.
