This image shows the Ramblers on an outing to Portencross Castle. Portencross is situated on the West Coast of Scotland, in Portencross near West Kilbride. Portencross Castle - sometimes spelled Portincross - was built by the Boyd family around an existing one storey fortified house built by the de Ross family. The Boyds were given the lands by Robert the Bruce for their support at Bannockburn.
