Cessnock Castle, Galston

Cessnock Castle is a 17th century baronial mansion that incorporates a 15th century keep, however the earliest records state that dwellings hav   . After her defeat at the Battle of Langside, Mary Queen of Scots is reputed to have taken refuge at the castle. In 1900, the Duke of Portland restored the castle and it is now a private home.
