Description:

These plates decorated with images of Robert Burns were made by the firm of Ridgeways, sometime before 1920.  They are rack plates, so called because of the old custom of displaying decorative plates on racks mounted onto the top of sideboards or dressers.

The plates are inscribed, "Robt Burns, Born 21st Jan 1759 / Died 21st July 1796"
