The Waverley (1)

The original Waverley heads off on an excursion along the West Coast of Scotland.  This ship was one of those sunk off Dunkirk in 1940 during the Second World War, but she was replaced after the war with a new boat which was named after her.  This new Waverly was built on the Clyde and remains a common sight off the coast of the south west of Scotland.  During the summer months she sails out of Ayr.  Today she is the last of the ocean going paddles steamers which were once common along our coatline.
