Bronze model of a Viking Ship, presented to the town of Dumfries by the people of the island of Karmoy, Norway

Sverre K Anderson made the presentation on behalf of Karmoy, "in memory of wartime kindness..." Sverre was stationed in Dumfries where he trained as a radio operator. He returned secretly to Karmoy and worked as a farm labourer. His secret radio transmissions provided the Allies with valuable information on German activities in the area.
