Ministry of Supply Powfoot Factory magazine
The ICI factory in Dumfries manufactured acids and gun cotton for processing at Powfoot and Dalbeattie. In total 37,500 tons of guncotton were despatched from these factories during the war years. More than half of the 1,700 workforce were women. All three factories closed after the war, this magazine was produced to mark the closure of the Powfoot Factory in September 1945.
