Plan for Stranraer Workhouse, Dalrymple Street, Stranraer, 1850

In 1850 these plans were passed and the works were completed in Dalrymple Street, Stranraer.  The building was known as the Combination Poorhouse in recognition of its ability to accommodate the poor and needy of a combination of 9 parishes in the Rhins of Galloway.
