The Dick Institute after the Fire in 1909
Just eight years after the building opened a fire occured in the
Dick Institute. These photographs shows the extent of the damage
caused by the fire. Many of the items on display at the time were
destroyed although many of the paintings were saved by staff who
took them from the walls as they evacuated the building.
