Queen Margaret Tudor's Coat of Arms

The lion was used in royal coats of arms by the English as well as the Scots but the English always used three and all of them in the prowling position. Some believe that the animals are meant to be leopards but they are usually thought to be lions and they are shown here with lions' manes.
