Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect. First London Edition, 1787

The third edtition of Robert Burns' poems was a reprint of the Edinburgh edition for the London publishers A Strachan and T Cadell.  It has several typographical errors, including the substitution of "stinking" for "skinking" (meaning watery) in "Address to a Haggis".  It has become known as the "Stinking Edition".   This edition is bound in green leather and features an oval portrait of Burns on the frontispiece, after Naysmyth.
