Friendly Society Lodge Certificate

Hinged two-panel wooden "certificate of dispensation" for the Loyal Brownie of Bladnoch Lodge (No5934) of the Oddfellows (Manchester Unity Order).  One side has a printed copy of the dispensation certificate and the other carries the names of the lodge Past Grands (past chairmen).   This lodge, based at Kirkcowan, Wigtownshire, opened in 1872.  The lodge was names after William Nicholson's famous poem 'The Brownie of Blednoch'.
