The Galleon Centre, Kilmarnock, 1989

The Galleon Centre was opened in February 1986 opposite the site of the former Kilmarnock Swimming Baths on Titchfield St. The name of the centre was chosen to reference the Gallion Burn that used to run through the site. The Galleon Centre is primarily a swimming centre, with a large swimming pool and children's swimming pool. It also hosts faclities for ice skating, a fitness suite, and racket sports.
