Ceremonial sash worn for the Riding of the Marches, Wigtown

Sash worn for the Riding of the Marches, Wigtown, 1950s.   Made of blue and white cotton, it is hand embroidered with 'Ensign' and the Wigtown Burgh crest.  It is gathered at the base, above the tassles with a silvered braid and button.
