Pendant necklace, 18ct gold, garnet & freshwater pearls

Joanna Repton designs and handcrafts high quality jewellery in gold and silver, sometimes incorporating precious and semi-precious stones.  She specialises in commissioned work and will include a client's own ideas along with her own in the design of unique wedding and engagement rings and other jewellery.  Her inspiration comes mainly from natural forms,  but other major influences have been architecture from the Indian sub-continent, and Maori and Polynesian craft work.   Celtic style gold pendant with a large drop pearl suspended from a loop at the tip.  This is mounted on a twisted double string of black freshwater pearls and garnet beads.   This necklace won the Treasures for the New Millenium competition when museum visitors voted it their favourtite piece of contemporary craftwork by local makers.   Maker's mark:  "JR" Assay marks:   crown, "750", castle (Edinburgh) Date mark:       "y" (1998)
