A Taste of Spring Fling at Stranraer Museum

Now in its ninth year Spring Fling 2011 will see 86 artists open their studios to the public over the weekend of 28-30 May. It is an opportunity to buy direct from an artist, watch your favourite maker at work or have a great day out hopping from studio to studio.

Visitors to Stranraer Museum can now enjoy the Spring Fling taster exhibition. This is a delightful and exciting preview of what you can expect to see during Spring Fling weekend. Over 60 of this year’s participants have work on show. The display includes paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. Among the local artists and makers are Kay Ribbens from Mochrum Park, Hope London from Bladnoch, Lisa Hooper from Port William, Michael Holak and Colin Macleod from Stranraer, Pamela Spencer from Portpatrick , Andy Priestman from Bargrennan and Stewart Lammie from Minnigaff . All the works are for sale.

Kay Ribbens, local textile artist and Spring Fling committee member said, “It is absolutely marvellous that once again Spring Fling participants can be seen in Stranraer Museum. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our studios during the Spring Fling weekend at the end of May”.

The Spring Fling Taster exhibition is at Stranraer Museum from 12 February to 12 March.

Admission is free.
