The Victorian Christmas
Come along and create your own Christmas tree decorations

The tradition of decorating Christmas trees was introduced into Britain by Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert when he decorated the first Christmas tree at Windsor Castle in the 1840s.

Victorian children hung out their stockings on Christmas Eve in the hope that they would be full of presents the next morning. Handmade gifts, often sewn or knitted, were popular, and included pin cushions, bookmarks and scarves.

Sessions are free. Drop in any time, no booking required.
All children should be accompanied by an adult.
