David Donaldson - Celebration of a Painter

Working in collaboration with members of the Donaldson family, the special exhibition has over 40 rarely seen works by the notable Painter and Limner to the Queen in Scotland, David Donaldson (1916-1996).  the exhibition highlights Donaldson's career through the themes of portriature, still ife, and landscape and, in particular, the influence of France and allegorical subject matter in his work.  A feature of the exhibition is the recent acquisition to the Maclaurin Collection, a painting of the artist's daughter, Caroline, on roller skates.

The Maclaurin Trust gratefully acknowledges the kind support of Marysia Donaldson, Caroline Donaldson and David and Marion Donaldson in creating the exhibition project.  Also, Glasgow Art Club, Lord Macfarlane of Bearsden KT DL, Roger Billcliffe Gallery, Glasgow School of Art, Professor Dugald Cameron OBE DSc, David Brown, Mr & Mrs McIntyre of Sorn Castle and the Lillie Art Gallery, East Dunbartonshire Council.
