The Human Experience - Paintings by Gino Ballantyne at Stranraer Museum

Gino Ballantyne studied at the Glasgow School of Art and now works in England. The exhibition “The Human Experience” has been created specifically for Stranraer Museum and includes work in oils, charcoal and ink. On show are a series of powerful and striking images, many of them carefully observed portraits, which the artist describes as ‘a refelection of society with its personal desires and hidden illnesses’.

The drawings and paintings demonstrate Gino Ballantyne’s technical skill in a variety of mediums and styles. They also challenge the visitor with their stark, honest but ultimately optimistic view of life.

“The Human Experience” runs until 23 February. Entrance to the exhibition is free and all the work is for sale.
