Wedding Dress

Ivory wedding dress.   Not all correspondence during World War One related to loss and sadness. Some letters led to happy events. This wedding dress was worn by Mary Isaac at her marriage to William Isaac at St John's Church in Dumfries on 10 October 1919. Mary and William met after they wrote to each other during World War One. Mary had knitted socks to send to soldiers at the front and William wrote back thinking, at first, that they might be related.
