War Memorial, Wanlockhead

Description:
The white marble figure of a soldier in full dress, six feet high with rifle reversed - the military position signifying bereavement. The pedestal is of grey granite, square and panelled on one side are inscribed the names and units of the sixteen natives who fell. There is a substantial granite base carrying the dedication “Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori”.
