Stone seal stamp of the Abbot of Dundrennan

Description:

An early official stamp, simply with the wording 'sigillum abbatis de dundraynan' arranged in an oval form around the face.  Found on a gravel bank in the Mulloch Burn, Dundrennan.

 

A small rounded polished stone with one flat oval face bearing the incised seal of the Abbot of Dundrennan.
