Lead seal of Pope Benedict XIII, 1394 - 1423.

 

These lead seals or Papal Bullae would have been fastened to church documents as a mark of authenticity.  This seal was moulded and is likely to have been produced in Avignon, France.  On the obverse, moulded in relief are the two heads of St Paul and St Peter facing one another.  On the reverse is the inscription.
