Castles

Greenan Castle (2)

Description:
Clinging dramatically  on a coastal cliff just south of Ayr, Greenan Castle, as this print demonstrates, still seems to defy gravity.  The tower was built in 1603 forJohn Kennedy of Baltersan on the site of an earlier fortified stronghold which had been built by the Davidson family.
