Stranraer Carbine Club Medal

Description:

Medal awarded to G McHaffie of Stranraer.  McHaffie, a member ofthe Galloway Rifle Volunteers, was a crack shot.

 

The medal shows two kilted figures with rifles.  On the reverse it reads: 'Presented by Col J M I Stewart to the Stranraer Carbine Club for competition at 200, 500 and 600 yards, to become the property of any member winning it three years in succession, 1882'.
