George McHaffie and the Caledonian Challenge Shield

Description:

George McHaffie posing in front of the magnificent Caledonian Challenge Shield.  He won the shield in June 1900.

 

McHaffie was from Stranraer and served with the Galloway Rifle Volunteers.  He was a crack shot and took part in shooting competitions across Britain.
