Dumfriesshire Rifle Volunteer non-Officers helmet plate

Description:

Helmet plate from a non-Officers rank uniform of the First Dumfriesshire Rifle Volunteer Corps (King's Own Scottish Borderers). Star shaped badge with emblem of St Michael in the centre, surrounded by a garland, with Queen Victoria's crown at the top. There are three pegs on the reverse for attaching to a helmet.
