Decorated harness mount

Description:

This small mount was a decorative attachment on a horse's harness.  The design would have been highlighted in red, yellow and blue enamel.  The design suggestes contacts with Ireland and the object may have been made in Ireland.

 

Circular hollow-backed mount with four lugs.  Quatrefoil design on the face, raised to take enamel (now absent).  This is a broken attachment lug or fitting on the underside.
