Loudoun Moor School

Loudoun Moor was Sir Alexander Fleming's first school, situated around a mile from his home at Lochfield. He would arrive at school by walking over the moors crossing a plank bridge with a hot potato given by his mother to keep him warm and fed. The school has a single teacher and around 10 children enrolled at a time.
