Craigmillar Castle

Craigmillar Castle is located close to Edinburgh and was a favourite residence of Mary Queen of Scots.   Sir D. Y. Cameron was invited, as a master of etching, to produce this print for the newly established American College Society of Print Collectors. The Society had been founded to stimulate interest in the graphic arts amongst undergraduates in the United States. Each year , two masters were invited to produce a plate from which 125 impressions were made, one for each of the members of the Society.
