"The haaf net is a portable 'poch' of 'poke' which is set against the running tide. The haafer leans on it while keeping it at arms; length.

 

a) The correct position for the haafer.

 

b) Haafers standing in the running tide.

 

c) Fighting a salmon in the ebb tide.

 

d) Preparing to kill with the 'mell'.

 

e) Passing the finger into the gill.

 

f) Bagging the fish head first."
