Leather Shoe, Lochmaben

Description:

This item is an accurate replica of a shoe found preserved in peat moss near Lochmaben. Made of leather, this facsimile is based closely upon an Iron Age original, and is either a shoe or a sandal. Formed from one flat piece of leather drawn up with a leather lace tie, the shoe has a seam sown at the back of the heel.
