Description:

19th century Italian lute, with an unusual angular form. The body is inlaid with ivory and bone arabesques, with two plaques depicting portrait heads of men in renaissance costume. The table of the lute features an inset carved and pierced bone rose surrounded by fabulous beasts that are inlaid in mother of pearl.
