Title & date in gold on the spine. Laid paper. Marks: Embossed mark "Burns Monument Kilmarnock", on the title page.   Comment by James McKie: "…and other attestations, …of winter in Edinburgh in 1787..the Edition came for London which were also …thereby making three district issues of Burns' Edinburgh edition in 1787 - see … 16th December 1872. James M'Kie." Inscription: "Friend, Edward Ruthtor? July 9th 1827", on title page. Inscription: "Stinking page 263", on initial page. There are pencil annotations throughout the text. Discolouration on title page suggestions that there was an image of Burns opposite at one point.
