This was the home of the Seed Merchant Tam Samson, friend and patron of Robert Burns. It was located on London Road in Kilmarnock but no longer exists.
According to the artist, Thomas Smellie, Burns was always welcomed at the house and frequently dined there when in Kilmarnock.
Smellie printed this sketch in his book Sketches of Old Kilmarnock which features 40 of the historical and significant sites around the town.
