Alloway Kirk

Alloway Kirk is famous as the setting for Robert Burns's Tam o' Shanter.  The Poet's father, sister and two nieces are buried in the kirkyard there.   The artist, Robert Bryden, included this etching in his book Ayrshire Monuments a collection of illustrations of various official and unofficial monuments to figures significant in the area's history.
