Nodder figurine

Description:

Made in Germany, this nodding figurine shows a woman dressed in a long coat and bonnet, both with blue bows, holding a book.  The body is hollow and the separate head is balanced on the rim of the body with a bar through the neck of the figure. The holes at either side of her eyes are to accommodate wire spectacles, however these have never been recovered.
