Winchester or Wine Gallon, Burgh of Dumfries, 1707

Description:

Union wine gallon capacity measure, 1707.  Verification marks are present around the rim, legend and crown motifs and inscriptions within oval wreaths are around the main body.  This measure holds around 6.5 pints and is countermarked for issue by Stirling.
