Avoirdupois or English weights, Burgh of Dumfries 1707

Description:

Union avoirdupois stacking weight, 8lb and 4lb, 1707.  Verification stamps are present around the top border and base, and the upper surface is engraved with Queen Anne's crown motif in the centre.  The weights are countermarked "D.LK" for issue by Lanark, and are part of a set divided in binary fashion from 8 pounds down.
