"Bluebird"

Following the amalgamation of Arrol-Johnston and Aster of Wembley in 1927, the company won the contract to reconstruct Sir Malcolm Campbell's "Bluebird" in Dumfries.   In 1924 Campbell broke the land speed record reaching 146.16mph, a year later he increased his record to 150.766mph, becoming the first person to exceed 150mph.
