World War I Medals

These medals were awarded to John Scott Thomson of Troon. He enlisted in Glasgow to the Glasgow Highlanders then Commissions K.O.S.B.. The first is the silver Defence Medal 1914-18 awarded for participation and the second the gold "The Great War for Civilisation 1914 -19" which is probably a service medal.
